Japanese crossword «Good dog»

I thought it was an owl until I saw it zoomed out. Not sure what that says about it? Really fun to solve though.

Tedious--I can't see that the very dark brown is different enough from the black to make any difference, unless you're so close that you see pixels instead of a picture.

Is that the dog from Duck Hunt on NES?
