Don't be silly, any young person knows that's a save icon ;)
replyHah! I recently received some “archival” data on a 3.5” floppy. I thought I had said archival hardware in a box somewhere, but it turned out all that I have is a 5 1/4” drive - for a REAL “floppy” disk!

I used to have a 5 1/4" external drive for my TRS-80

Who can forget the TRASH 80? Memories. How about when 1400 BAUD was lightning fast?

Wow, I thought this was an exaggerated amine face. I was shocked at seeing the title because I DO know what these are, and a good image of it as well. And I actually remember “floppy” floppy disks!
replyThese run much slower than the time I needed to complete this puzzle.

Yeah, I remember floppy "floppy" discs. I also remember when, if you wanted a floppy disc, you'd need to cut a circle out of a piece of paper.

This has become the nostalgia site ... in a row I solved "film" / "mail" (where someone commented SWALK) / and now the floppy...all we need now is an inkwell.
Sorry, I only remember the cassettes (of which my daughter commented "what a strange cd": )) on my commodore 64.
As a sidenote, it feels like I´m all alone on this site. It seems like most of the comments were made during the covid. Now that everybody is healthy, they don´t solve monograms as much : ).
Anyway, since I´m new to the site, i salute everyone, both old and young.

And to be totally honest, I thought first it was the computer with the screen and floppy-disc reader. It took some time for me to see the floppy disc. Perhaps it was an optical illusion? Cool, if so...
replyI've never even seen one of these in real life, but I know what it is from a book.
