Weird that so many people don't know what this is. I know kettlebells originated in Russia, but they've been pretty commonly found in the U.S. for some time, especially with those high-intensity exercise programs, like CrossFit.
It's a good use of glinting to give the image dimension.

Good puzzle! My middle school P.E. teacher always called them medicine balls.

Interesting that this puzzle caused so much confusion - 73 yr old female here - I’m not a gym junkie nor an ex star athlete and yet I know of and still use a kettle bell in my attempts to stay fit ( or at least delay decrepitude
